How is it the middle of September already!?

I wasn’t sure about showing my Litcube August 2017 unboxing because it feels like it’s too late. But I had some troubles getting the mail last month and I just got my Litcube and Gilmore Girls boxes! And all the items are really cool and deserved to be shared! So, in other words, it might be late but here they are anyway:

Lit-Cube August 2017

The theme of the August Lit-Cube box was Steampunk Wonderland and it came with the following items:

  • Curiouser and Curiouser (Steampunk Fairy Tales) by Melanie Karsak. To save the Hatter, Alice must work with the one man she despises so much that she might still love him.
  • Steampunk Wonderland Inspired Aromatherapy Smelling Salts. I had never had smelling salts before… they’re interesting. The bottle is a nice decoration but it also smells good, so I guess I’ll pick it up when I feel sleepy to try them out. (Wikipedia says these can be used to prevent someone from fainting, so we will see!)
  • Steampunk Wonderland Old Fashioned Watch Necklace. This is a real pocket watch! I feel like this box couldn’t be MORE STEAMPUNK! And it’s perfect for the Alice theme since the White Rabbit has one of these.

[Detail on the back of the watch]

  • Exclusive Queen Of Hearts Rose Tea. This also smells really good! Since I got a lot of coffee this week (see the rest of the unboxings) I haven’t had tea yet, but I’m already excited to try it. The blend contains: black tea, vanilla, honeybush tea, gunpowder (this is a king of tea! haha I didn’t know) and rose petals. This blend sounds like a perfect steampunk Alice match!
  • Steampunk Inspired Tea Infuser. Yes! I’m always lazy about brewing tea when it doesn’t come in a bag (tea connoisseurs, please don’t hate me). So this was a nice addition. Also, it looks cool in the kitchen.

This one has been one of the coolest Lit-Cube boxes I’ve received. They always choose their items carefully so they match with the theme of the book, but this time it turned out even more awesome (it might be because all the items are really photogenic, haha). I’m not even a steampunk fan, but this box put me in the mood to pick up Curiouser & Curiouser!

  • Price: $34.95 USD +shipping
  • Discount Code: PRETTYGEEKERY for 10% off your first purchase*. Right now you can order the Hocus Pocus themed box for October 😀

Stars Hollow Monthly August 2017

Then I opened the August Stars Hollow Monthly box. It came with the following items:

  • Doose’s Market Mug. I liked this mug because it feels like an inside joke that only Gilmore Girls fan will get. The rest of the world will think I just got a free mug from a random market!
  • “I Drink Coffee Like a Gilmore” Tumbler. This is just perfect. I haven’t tried it yet but it looks sturdy and it’s too cute.
  • Luke’s Non-Slip Coasters (Pack of 4). Also too cute! I need a coffee table so I can show these off!
  • Coffee Sample from the Stars Hollow Coffee Club “Oy! With the SnickerPoodles Already”: Yes, it’s snickerdoodles flavored! *heart eyes emoji* See the next box for a flavor review 😉
  • Price: $34.90 USD +shipping
  • Discount Code: PRETTYGEEKERY for 10% off your first purchase*

Stars Hollow Coffee Club

Finally, I opened the Stars Hollow Coffee Club box. It smelled delicious! Also, the design of the box is the prettiest I’ve seen.

  • It came with a super cute mug full of Gilmore Girls quotes.

Also:

  • Luke’s No-Nonsense Special 8oz (227g). A medium roast coffee blend with a full-body, citrus fruit and honey notes, sparkling acidity, a clean finish.
  • Oy! With The SnickerPoodles Already 8oz (227g). This cinnamon and sugar tasting coffee will surely shut up a person that is talking non-stop and will have you smiling every time you brew a pot.

Okay, first of all, the names for both coffee grounds are perfect. Second of all, they’re actually really good! First I tried Luke’s No-Nonsense Special since I was craving “normal” coffee, and it did satisfy my cravings. It wasn’t too strong or acidic, just a nice smelling comfy drink. I especially liked the acidity level since it was just in the middle (perfect for my weak stomach, haha).

Then this morning my boyfriend and I had a cup of SnickerPoodles and we loved it! This one was our favorite from the two, we could taste the cinnamon without it being overpowering. Also, I normally add half a teaspoon of sugar to my coffee, but this one didn’t need it because it was already sweet (but not too sweet!)

Both blends and this subscription box were a collaboration Lit-Cube x Boca Java. When you go to Boca Java’s site you can create your own box including different blends (right now they have 7 different flavors). Also, for a limited time you get a FREE BAG OF OY! WITH THE SNICKERPOODLES when you subscribe to 2 or more bags. + Aaaaand, a 25% off your first purchase if you use the code POODLE25.

What did you think of these boxes? I fell like both Gilmore Girls boxes give a strong Fall vibe! I can smell pumpkin!

*Disclosure: As of writing this post I’m a Lit-Cube rep, which means I get free subscription boxes in exchange of an unboxing on my Instagram. I don’t get paid by Lit-Cube, I’m not obliged to review their boxes and all the comments are my own! 🙂

Hey guys, it’s my favorite part of the month! Time to open June’s subscription boxes 😉

Get ready for spoilers because I’ll be featuring Owlcrate Jr, Owlcrate, Lit-Cube, Litcube & Utopia Con Special Edition, The Crowns of Croswald (sent by the author of the book!) and Stars Hollow Monthly June 2017 Unboxings.

By the way, I’m experimenting with a new way to show unboxings, I hope this will be easier to digest than looking at separate posts for all the boxes. What do you guys think? Would you be interested if I included the approximate prices of the items too?

Also, I finally downloaded Adobe Lightroom to edit my pictures, but for some reason they turned really blurry! I’m sorry if the quality is not the best, I’m still getting used to this new software…

I have more pictures and unboxing videos on my Instagram, if you prefer to check them out over there. Let’s start 😀

Owlcrate Jr

The Owlcrate Jr June 2017 box was themed Gizmos and Gears and it came with:

  • A building set from Plus-Plus. Like little Lego pieces but in the shape of a #.
  • An adorable sticker sheet.
  • A Hexbug Nano (my cat, Yuki, loved this bug!).
  • A Brain-Fart pen and eraser set. The erasers are really fun because they’re puzzles (and I haven’t been able to put together one of them…)
  • The book York: The Shadow Cipher by Laura Ruby. It came with a letter and bookplate from the author. And a secret code door hanger.

I love that the Owlcrate Jr boxes keep getting better and better. Don’t you think all the goodies are really fun?

  • Price: $27.99 USD +shipping
  • Discount Code: Geekery15 for 15% off your first purchase

Owlcrate

The Owlcrate June 2017 box was themed Make It Out Alive and it came with:

  • An ACOTAR inspired bookmark (double sided!).
  • A Divergent bath bomb with a faction charm inside (I already used the bath bomb and got the Dauntless charm!)
  • An Ember in the Ashes inspired magnet.
  • A zombie sleep mask.
  • The book New World: Rising by Jennifer Wilson.
  • The book The Sandcastle Empire by Kayla Olson  It came with an exclusive Owlcrate cover. A letter and bookplate from the author and a sticker sheet.

This box had so many things inside! I’m also digging the green theme… (Is green a dystopian color? Because it fits really well). Also, YAY for two books in a box.

  • Price: $29.99 USD +shipping
  • Discount Code: Pretty15 for 15% off your first purchase

Lit-Cube

The Lit-Cube June 2017 box was themed Modern Cinderella and it came with:

  • A wand made of rock candy (that I plan to use with my coffee)
  • A slipper trinket box.
  • Foamy bath salts.
  • A bookmark / journal closure with the words “Have courage and be kind”.
  • The book Cinderella.com by River Laurent.

This box also had a color theme going on. And of course it had to be blue! I wouldn’t expect any other color for a Cinderella themed box.

  • Price: $34.95 USD +shipping
  • Discount Code: PRETTYGEEKERY for 10% off your first purchase

Lit-Cube & Utopia Con Special Edition

The Special Edition Lit-Cube Utopia Con June 2017 box was themed Circus Freaks and it came with:

  • A Book Freak tote bag (with zipper, yay!)
  • A Book Freak t-shirt. I’m loving the design and I’m ready to wear it everywhere 😀
  • Cotton candy!
  • A cotton candy flavored lip-balm.
  • A Book Beau (with a creepy limited edition design).
  • The book The Circus by Olivia Levez.

This has been one of my favorite limited edition boxes from Lit-Cube! The t-shirt and tote are cute and also useful, and the cotton candy was a really fun surprise 🙂

The Crowns of Croswald

This box is a little different because it was curated especially to promote The Crowns of Croswald by D. E. Night and it came with:

I was contacted by a marketing person and asked if I wanted to get this box to help promote a fantasy book. Their description was: A book that is part Cinderella, part Harry Potter and all fun. So I obviously said YES, please send it to me! I still haven’t read the book but I plan to do it before the release date (July 21, 2017). I’m excited! 😀

Stars Hollow Monthly

Finally I got the Stars Hollow Monthly June 2017 and it came with:

  • Exclusive Stars Hollow sunglasses & Sunglasses case
  • Exclusive sandwich keeper
  • Exclusive Bid-a-Basket lunch bag
  • Collectible exclusive magnet (with the ooo-ber logo)

This box looks like you’re supposed to take everything to a picnic, and I plan to do it! (Well, maybe I won’t take the magnet with me…)

  • Price: $34.90 USD +shipping
  • Discount Code: PRETTYGEEKERY for 10% off your first purchase

Here’s my Litcube May 2017 Unboxing and Review 😀

This month Lit-Cube sent a box themed Robin Hood: Princess of Thieves. Keep reading to see all the items they included!

The book was Lady of Sherwood by Molly Bilinski This YA novel is a retelling of (you guessed) Robin Hood. Only this time ‘Robin’ is a teenage girl! I wonder if there’s still a Lady Marian in the story… or maybe it will be a Lord?? Value: $10.99

The wearable of the month was an exclusive t-shirt with the quote “And yet she persisted”. I really liked the fabric! It’s soft and the color is super GREEN and pretty. Value: $19.99 (according to the info card)

The snackable was a bag of pomegranate-passion fruit energy chews. I love that Lit-Cube sends a little snack each month because I always eat something while reading. These little chews were delicious! (And the packaging made me feel like I was eating something healthy ;P)  Value: $1.99 (according to the info card)

The biggest surprise of the box was this exclusive Hunger Games bookmark designed by LexyOlivia. It was hand painted and lettered and then printed on watercolor paper. Value: $5.99 (according to the info card)

Finally, an exclusive brass and turquoise “arrow” bracelet. It’s really cute, though a bit too wide for me. The card says the it was designed and manufactured just for Lit-Cube subscribers. Value: $9.99 (according to the info card)

I didn’t know what to expect from a Robin Hood inspired box (apart from a picture of the fox Robin Hood from the Disney movie…), but I was pleasantly surprised with all the items. I think the t-shirt was really cute and nice quality. I also liked the bracelet but it didn’t fit well, I might give it to a friend with wider wrists. As always, I loved the snack and ate it as soon as I took the picture. Thank you for sending me food, Lit-Cube!

Overall, I think this box was cute and cohesive (it’s cool that all the items had arrows! haha).

A Lit-Cube box is $34.95 with FREE shipping in the US. You can use my discount code prettygeekery to get 10% off your first box 🙂

According to the info card included, the value of the box was $48.95 I would say it’s definitely worth it considering it comes with a nice t-shirt and exclusive bookmark from LexyOlivia.

I received this box from Litcube in exchange for an unboxing. All opinions are my own 🙂

Which one was your favorite item? I think mine was the bookmark! It looks like it was hand-painted directly on the paper!

What did you think about this box?

This month was definitely Beauty and the Beast month for me, so I’m reaaally glad that Lit-Cube sent a bunch of goodies inspired by this story!

Here’s my Litcube March 2017 Unboxing with a book and items inspired by the theme Who could ever learn to love a beast?” which included:

Bellamy and the Brute by Alicia Michaels. This YA romance/mystery is a retelling of (I bet I don’t need to tell you at this stage, but I will) Beauty and the Beast. In which a teenager named Bellamy is offered a summer job babysitting at a big house in her town where, the rumors say, the eldest son became a hermit after acquiring a strange illness. I honestly was a little put off because of the title, but the premise sounds interesting and I’m looking forward to reading it! (Especially because of the mystery part) Value: $10.95 ($6.76 on Amazon)

A Beauty and the Beast inspired mug with the quote “I want adventure in the great, wide somewhere”. And it has those little flying plants that appear on the (Disney) movie scene while Belle sings that line 🙂  Value: $19.99 (according to the info card)

A 4 OZ. candle from In the wick of time! The candle is called “Belle’s Books” and it’s supposed to smell like books and roses. While I think it smells delicious, I can’t smell any books on it, only the roses. That might be a good thing because it would be weird to burn a book scented candle! (What if it smells like burned books?) Value: $10.99 (according to the info card)

An exclusive “Be our guest” lip balm by Olive Kisses (I couldn’t find their shop online). It says the flavor is Sweet Lemon Pie… and that’s true! It totally made my lips taste like lemon cake or lemon cookies, or something similar and delicious. (Though I’m not sure if the lemon flavor was inspired by Beauty and the Beast. I don’t remember anything tasting like that in the movie).  Value: $2.99 (according to the info card)

Finally, the snack (my favorite part of the box!). A little sweet treat by Piece of Cake, it’s an Oreo cookie covered with a beautiful roses design in white chocolate. It was delicious. And it was torture taking pictures of it because I wanted to eat it IMMEDIATELY.  Value: $2.95 (according to the info card)

I think I expected this box to include some Disney Beauty and the Beast merchandise, but I’m really glad with the twist it took! All the merch came from little businesses and was inspired by the story rather than being an “in your face” reference. I also like it a lot when these book boxes include items that you can use while reading your book, for example the mug, candle and snack. It’s a really fun and cute experience!

Overall, I think this box was and smelt delicious.

A Lit-Cube box is $34.95 with FREE shipping in the US. You can use my discount code prettygeekery to get 10% off your first box 🙂

According to the info card included, the value of the box was $47.87  It’s definitely a good deal if you like all the items, though I could see the mug and book being cheaper if bought somewhere else. I also think the candle adds a lot of value since those tend to be pricey everywhere.

I received this box from Litcube in exchange for an unboxing. All opinions are my own 🙂

Next month’s theme is:

You’ve got mail!“. The next Lit-Cube box will be inspired by a 90’s romance movie 😉

Which one was your favorite item? I think mine was the cookie, haha, I like sweet treats too much. And I also loved the lemon lip balm (because it tastes like a sweet treat too!).

What did you think about this box?

This has to be the cutest subscription box I’ve opened! All the goodies on this month’s Lit-Cube were inspired by the theme Live. Laugh. Love and felt really romantic :).

1The book selection was The Charm Bracelet by Viola Shipman, a story about family and the passion for living, told through each of the charms in grandma’s bracelet. It does sound cute!  Value: $15.00 ($9.51 total on Amazon)

This box also included  a second book: Desserts from the Loveless Cafe. And it’s one of my favorite books I’ve gotten in a box! It has recipes for cakes, pies, cookies, etc.  Value: $24.95 (according to the info card)

3The next item was a tote bag (with plenty of room for books!). I like how sturdy it looks. And my favorite part is that it has a zipper. Value: $19.99 (according to the info card)

Even the snack this month was cute, because it was shaped like little hearts. Value: Free

And finally, the wearable: An exclusive charm bracelet with four charms inside. I had never seen this style of charm bracelet but I really liked it! And I’m happy that I got the pink strap. The charms are shaped as hearts, a little pile of books and a cup of coffee.  Value: $49.95 (according to the info card)

I think this box captured really well the “family” and “love” theme. All the goodies are cute (some might find them a bit corny, but I think they’re lovely) and the recipe book not only provides a new hobby, but a great activity to enjoy with your loved ones. I also think the theme goes really well with Valentine’s Day and would be a great box to give as a gift to an adult friend.

Overall, I liked this box and would buy it for friend as a ‘care package’-kinda gift.

The Lit-Cube box is $34.95 with FREE shipping in the US. You can use my discount code prettygeekery to get 10% off your first box 🙂

According to the info card included, the value of the box was $110.88. I would say it’s a good deal at $34.95 since they send fun and cute items, but I’m not sure if it’s actually worth $110.

Next month’s theme is:

Who could ever learn to love a beast?“. The next Lit-Cube box will send goodies inspired by Beauty and the Beast! Just in time to celebrate the new movie coming out in March :D.

Which one was your favorite item? I liked the bracelet a lot! I’m looking around the house hoping to find more charms to put inside. Could it hold some chocolate chips to carry around as snacks? ;).

What did you think about this box?

Any Game of Thrones, Pride and Prejudice or dragons fans?

This month’s Lit-Cube theme was “Mother of Dragons“! And it comes with a book that sounds extremely magical and deliciously romantic.

And of course, a lot of dragon swag. Keep reading to see all the spoilers 🙂

1The book selection was Heartstone by Elle Katharine White. This novel is a retelling of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice but with dragons, gryphons, direwolves and banshees. It sounds like my kind of fantasy book! The publisher sent a signed bookplate and a free pen with the book. Value: $15.99 ($11.25 on Amazon)

The wearable of the month is a dragon claw necklace. I think it’s cool because… dragon claw! Though I’m not sure about the red ball that is holding.  Value: $12.99 (according to the info card)

3The snack (my favorite item to open!) was a bag of tortilla chips with a pack of nacho cheese. Honestly, I had been craving nachos for a while and I devoured them the same day. They were really good! Value: $2.50

The coolest item on the box was this exclusive fabric wall scroll featuring the mother of dragons herself. It’s pretty! And I really like these scrolls. They allow me to hang art around without a frame. Value: $9.99 (according to the info card)

The last item was an exclusive pillowcase embroidered with a Game of Thrones quote. The design says “Moon of my life. My sun and stars”. Ahh, I wish I had two of them to put one on my boyfriend’s pillow!  Value: $14.99 (according to the info card)

This box definitely felt like ‘Mother of Dragons’ box. I loved the wall scroll featuring Daenerys the most. And the pillowcase with the quote was super soft and really cute. (But I would have liked it infinitely more if there were two pillowcases, one with Danny’s phrase and one with Drogo’s). The necklace kind of disappointed me at first but it’s growing on me really fast (thought it still looks like a cheap cute necklace from the dollar store).

Overall, I liked all the items. I think LitCube did a great job coming up with Dragon themed goodies (but I think they look slightly cheaper than the values mentioned in the card).

A Lit-Cube box is $34.95 with FREE shipping. You can use my discount code prettygeekery to get 10% off your first box 🙂

According to the info card included, the value of the box was $56.46 ($51.72 with Amazon’s book prices). In my opinion, the value would be closer to $40-ish. It’s still worth it! But I think the values for the Dragon Necklace and the Pillowcase are too high.

Next month’s theme is:

Live. Laugh. Love“. The next Lit-Cube box will send a lovely women’s fiction book AND a piece of jewelry! (among other surprises).

What did you think about this box? Which one was your favorite item? I would say Daenery’s scroll but I seriously love nachos…

Any Sherlock Holmes fans in the room?

This month’s Lit-Cube theme was “Sherlocked“!

1The book selection was Lock & Mori by Heather W. Petty a novel inspired by Sherlock Holmes but in a high school setting (there are still murder mysteries going on, don’t worry). As a surprise addition, this box also included the sequel! Lock & Mori Mind Games. The books also come with a signed bookplate from the author and some cute stickers. Value: $35.98 or $17.99 each ($24.13 total on Amazon)

The wearable of the month is a pair of exclusive Sherlock inspired socks. They are comfy and really appreciated in the winter, the pattern includes little violins, magnifying glasses, pipes and the classic Sherlock hat. Value: $9.99 (according to the info card)

3The snack was this pack of tea from First Edition Tea Co. The black tea blend is called Smoked English Breakfast and smells delicious! Value: $3.99

The box also included an exclusive keychain with Sherlock’s address printed on it.I think the address print is a cool idea since it’s a subtle reference to the series and only fans will recognize it. I’m kinda sad that the one I got is defective (it says ‘Stree’ instead of ‘Street’).   Value: $5.99 (according to Lit-Cube)

The last item was an exclusive gift from the Lit-Cube family. This orange/transparent ornament has the hashtag #bookish printed on it.  Value: Free

I really appreciate getting two books in one box (plus autograph!), though I’m not sure if that’s worth it considering the rest of the items feel cheaper/ smaller than the ones I got in previous boxes. I don’t consider the defective keychain and the ornament as items I would buy, so I only feel like I got two things with my books (the socks and tea). On the other hand, I love socks and I love tea! And I think it’s a great idea to include warm and cozy items during winter.

Overall, I REALLY liked half of the items I got. And didn’t care too much about the other half.

The Lit-Cube box is $34.95 with FREE shipping in the US. + $10.00 shipping to Canada. And +$14.99 shipping to other countries. You can use my discount code prettygeekery to get 10% off your first box 🙂

According to the info card included, the value of the box was $55.95 ($44.1 with Amazon’s book prices)  I would say it’s a fair value if you didn’t pay for international shipping.

Next month’s theme is:

Mother of Dragons“. The next Lit-Cube box will send an epic historical fantasy 😉

What did you think about this box? Which one was your favorite item? I can’t choose between the tea blend and the socks!

What’s better than your subscription boxes arriving in the mail!?

(Maybe a lot of things, but subscription boxes are also really cool).

This month’s Lit-Cube theme was “Sorting Hat“. Every subscriber got randomly sorted into one Hogwarts House :D! (And I got Gryffindor ;D).

1The book selection was The League of Beastly Dreadfuls by Holly Grant. This story promises to be part creepy, part mysterious and completely hilarious… the reviews make it sound like a combination of Lemony Snicket and Roald Dahl. I might save it to read it after a sad or really heavy book, because it looks charming. Value: $16.99 (14.37 on Amazon).

The wearable this month is a Hogwarts scarf! How cool is that? I got a Gryffindor themed one since Lit-Cube sorted me into Gryffindor (and that’s actually my house!). The print includes little lions and some words representing the house values (I got Brave, Determination, Courage, Nerve, Chivalry…). Value: $14.99 (according to Lit-Cube)

3The snack on this box was so tiny I almost lost it! It’s a Root Beer flavored candy stick, it seems like you could get that one or Butterbeer. It’s not bad, it leaves the same aftertaste as real root beer. Value: Free? (according to Lit-Cube)

Now… my favorite, SUPER favorite item of the month was this beautiful organizer! It includes montly calendars inside and blank pages to write notes. I really liked receiving such a useful item (just at the end of the year when my previous organizer is almost finished!). And it was designed exclusively for subscribers! Value: $34.99 (according to Lit-Cube)

To go with the organizer, they sent this super cute sticker sheet (just look at Voldemort! Haha…). These stickers were designed by NerdyGrlDesigns and feature some Harry Potter characters, page markers, titles and date symbols.  Value: $3.99

Finally, the box contained these Harry Potter nail decals by Nail Glams Nail Decals. They are tiny so I think they could fit on anyone’s nails, and the designs are really cute! It comes with Harry Potter, the sorting hat, the HP logo and the platform 9 3/4 logo. Value: $3.99

I loved receiving so many Harry Potter goodies in the same box! I also liked that all the items are useful in some way, so they are not just decorative items. I also think that the organizer and stickers were a great choice since most people get new organizers/agendas around this time of the year. I think the snack was too small 🙁 I was getting used to big treats!

Overall, I’m glad with all the items I got. It seems like all of them come from small vendors but don’t look cheap at all.

The Lit-Cube box is $34.95 with FREE shipping in the US. + $10.00 shipping to Canada. And +$14.99 shipping to other countries. You can use my discount code prettygeekery to get 10% off your first box 🙂

According to the info card included, the value of the box was $76.95. I would say it’s a fair value, though I’m not sure if the unlicensed Harry Potter organizer it’s worth $34.99 (I would expect it to be cheaper).

Next month’s theme is:

Sherlocked“. The next Lit-Cube box will send a YA mystery novel plus some goodies inspired by Sherlock Holmes.

What did you think about this box? Which one was your favorite item? Mine was the organizer, I almost couldn’t wait to start using the stickers and write notes 😀

Do you know what happens when book subscriptions send fairy tale themed goodies?

Exciting things!

This month’s LitCube theme was “Tale as old as time“. Keep reading if you want to see all the spoilers 😀 !

1As expected, this Tale as old as time theme was inspired by a Beauty and the Beast book. Beauty: Everland Ever After by Caroline Lee is a fantasy retelling about a widowed bibliophile lady and a blinded musician. The book also comes with a signed bookmarkValue: $9.99

Next item is an Rose necklace inside a bell-jar! Just like in the movies. The info card inside the box mentions that this item was designed exclusively for the box. Value: $9.99

3This item has the theme of the box literally written on it. It is a jewelry box with a Beauty and the Beast inspired print. Mine came broken! It is supposed to have four legs but mine came only with two, so it can’t stand right. I couldn’t find the legs anywhere so I assume it was packed like this.  Value: $24.95 (according to the info card included, thought I would say its value is around $8)

Another bookmark for my collection! It seems like all the items have roses. This bookmark is made of metal and it’s really cute and detailed. It doesn’t come with any info about the manufacturer. Value: $4.99

And of course, all the LitCube boxes come with a snack! I don’t know how to feel about this, but the cinnamon pretzel was my favorite item on this box. It was delicious (or maybe I’m just addicted to cinnamon sugar) In fact, this picture was taken as soon as I got the box because I had to devour it before taking all the other pictures.  Value: $2.95

I was really sad about receiving a broken item on my box, I haven’t contacted LitCube about it yet since I was too distracted eating the big pretzel. As with other subscription boxes, I think the jewelry pieces are cute but a bit childish or aimed at teenage girls. It’s not a big problem for me because I have a little sister, but I would appreciate it if I received more subtle jewelry in the future.

Overall, I think all the items were cute. I’m not sure if all of them fit with the Beauty and the Beast theme though (why a pretzel??) (but it’s not a big deal, I really liked the pretzel)

The Lit-Cube box is $34.95 with FREE shipping in the US. + $10.00 shipping to Canada. And +$14.99 shipping to other countries. You can use my discount code prettygeekery to get 10% off your first box 🙂

According to the info card included, the value of the October box was $52.87 but I really feel like the jewelry box is a bit overpriced. I would give this box a total value of $35.92 (assuming the jewelry box was around $8). I also appreciate the fact that the book was printed with an exclusive cover and that it came with a signed bookmark.

Next month’s theme is:

Sorting Hat“. The next LitCube will act as a sorting hat and will send every subscriber a Hogwarts house themed box. Which one will I get?? (Crossing my fingers for Gryffindor!)

What did you think about this box? Which one was your favorite item? Mine was the pretzel, haha! I guess I was really hungry when I got the mail 😀
